USA: Introduction to the Child Protection Minimum Standards
On 14 October, OFDA and the Child Protection Working Group will present a 2-hour interactive session on the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS, Sphere Companion). This whistle-stop tour is aimed at staff based at headquarters or in the field, working on humanitarian response, protection, child protection, violence prevention, grant writing or communications.
The session will cover why and how the CPMS were developed and how you can use them to enable more predictable, accountable and better quality Child Protection in Emergencies. In addition, you will learn about the range of tools that are available to support the implementation and roll-out of the CPMS -- training packages, assessment frameworks and an expanding range of communications materials.
