Plan International Myanmar is seeking a Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) Consultant to support Plan’s ongoing CPiE response in Rakhine State, Myanmar. Plan Myanmar has been implementing CPiE programmes in Minbya Township since 2014 and seeking a qualified CPiE practitioner to provide technical support to the ongoing response. The current response focuses on providing psychosocial support to affected children via mobile as well as permanent Child Friendly Spaces, case management support to individual children and their families in collaboration with the local Township Committee on the Rights of the Child (TCRC) as well as strengthening community-based child protection groups.
The CPiE Consultant will conduct a series of tasks during the consultancy period. The overall objective of this consultancy is to ensure that Plan Myanmar is better placed to implement its current and future CPiE programming. This will include developing and conducting a CPiE needs assessment in Minbya Township to assess the needs of children affected by crisis in order to align future CPiE programming accordingly. The CPiE Consultant will develop and contextualise a set of programme tools on different areas to ensure project teams have the necessary set of resources. Technical support to project teams specifically focusing on strengthening Plan International’s capacity in delivering timely and appropriate case management services to affected children and their families will be an important component of this consultancy. He/She will further be responsible for supporting the writing of concept notes and proposals for CPiE projects in Rakhine State as necessary. He/She will be responsible for creating and maintaining positive relationships with different stakeholders including the representation of Plan International Myanmar at Child Protection Sub-Sector meetings and the capacity building of chid protection staff. He/She will report to the CPiE Specialist at Country Office. This is a full time position based in Sittwe with a significant portion of the time spent in the field.
