Child Protection in Humanitarian Action Coordination Workshop with 7 Governments of Western and Central Africa
The Child Protection Area of Responsibility, the Global Partnership to End Violence against Children and UNICEF are co-hosting the Child Protection in Humanitarian Action Coordination Workshop with 7 Governments of Western and Central Africa. The workshop will be held on on 19-20 December 2016 in Senegal.
The goal of the workshop is to reinforce and improve the national coordination with a governmental lead / co-lead from the Western and Central African region. The workshop objectives include:
1. Evaluate the impact of the 2015 workshop in analysing the plans of actions and engagements of the seven countries that were there (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Guinea, DRC, Republic of Congo, and Chad;
2. Identify the available resources for strengthening the coordination for child protection / prevention of violence and the prospects for implementation in 2017;
3. Present the new Global Partnership to End Violence against Children, the Child Protection Area of Responsibility (formerly the Child Protection Working Group) and the lines between the two; and
4. Present technical tools: the Child Protection in Emergencies Coordination Handbook, INSIPE and Volence against Children surveys.
