On 14 October, OFDA and the Child Protection Working Group will present a 2-hour interactive session on the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS, Sphere Companion). This whistle-stop tour is aimed at staff based at headquarters or in the field, working on humanitarian response, protection, child protection, violence prevention, grant writing or communications.

From 11-12 June 2014, a contextualization workshop was held in Rwanda. Ten members of the Child Protection Working Group, representing Save the Children, Plan International, World Relief, World Vision, UNICEF and UNHCR, explored the implementation of four minimum standards to the Rwandan context: Standard 1 on Coordination; Standard 9 on Sexual Violence; Standard 15 on Case Management and Standard 20 on Education. The workshop emphasized child protection work with displaced people.
